STAR LAB / MECHANICAL DESIGN & DYNAMICS RESEARCH
Spacecraft emulation platform.
Developing a magnetic-levitation testbed for spacecraft attitude-control research.
01 / DESIGNING THE PLATFORM
Packaging a spacecraft testbed.
In the University of Florida’s STAR Lab, I work with Dr. Christopher Peterson on a platform for reaction-wheel testing and rotational-dynamics research.
My work includes CAD development, prototype fabrication, structural assembly, and support for system integration. The assembly brings the reaction wheel, motor, electronics, and battery into a compact structure.

02 / FROM ASSEMBLY TO COMPONENTS
Making the hardware fit.
The exploded view shows how the structure supports the reaction wheel, DC gearmotor, Arduino, battery, and electronics.
I design and modify components in Fusion 360 and support the integration of the mechanical and electrical hardware. Seeing the assembly separated makes mounting points, fasteners, and access clearer.

03 / THE FLOATING PLATFORM
Connecting the design to the testbed.
The floating pot provides the physical setting for the spacecraft emulation platform. The enclosure and levitation hardware are part of the broader effort to support reaction-wheel testing.
I have fabricated and assembled structural hardware and presented research progress at the 2nd SpaceU Symposium, hosted by the Florida Space Institute at UCF. Development and integration are ongoing.
